Biography

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Tony Zielinski is a seasoned American politician who has devoted over three decades to public service. After attending St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy, he pursued higher education at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Zielinski further expanded his knowledge by obtaining an MBA from Cardinal Stritch University and a Juris Doctor from Marquette University Law School.

In his personal life, Tony Zielinski is not just an armchair strategist; he won the Conference Chess Championship during his school years. He’s also an accomplished runner, having completed the Mangrove Marathon in Cape Coral, FL in 2010, and the Savage Seven Marathon in Ocala, FL in 2013. Beyond the board and the track, Tony also finds solace and challenge on the golf course.

  • Milwaukee County Supervisor (1988–2004): Tony Zielinski began his political journey in 1988 when he was first elected as Milwaukee County Supervisor for the 12th District. He was re-elected multiple times and served until 2004. During his tenure, he chaired the Judiciary, Safety, and General Services Committee and was a member of the Personnel Committee.
  • Milwaukee Common Council Member (2004–2020): Transitioning to the Milwaukee Common Council in 2004, Zielinski served as Alderman for the 14th District for 16 years. He was re-elected multiple times, most notably with an 84% majority in 2008.
